Greater Manchester Police have issued a further apology to the family of PC Ian Terry, shot dead in a training exercise in 2008.
“Ian was a most highly respected and professional officer, much loved by colleagues and friends. Ian's death has had a huge impact on the force and GMP has supported his family and the officers under investigation throughout this time.
“I have been in contact with Ian's family since his death in 2008 and once again I would like to extend our deepest apologies to them for loss of their much loved son, father and husband.
