Fighting over entry to Neville and Giggs hotel being used as homeless shelter

Greater Manchester Police have tweeted about a 'large scale disturbance' last night at the old Stock Exchange building on Norfolk Street in Manchester city centre.

The building, owned by Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, is currently being used by homeless activists as temporary accommodation.

Police have described 'conflict' between the activists inside the building, and homeless people outside who have reportedly been denied entry.

Former Manchester United stars Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have reportedly told squatters they can stay in the historic building they're hoping to turn into a hotel.

The pair are hoping to turn the Stock Exchange in the city centre into a boutique hotel but have apparently told the Manchester Angels they can help rough sleepers through the winter.

Homeless rights activists took up residence there under squatter’s rights after being told to leave an office block in the city. The leader of the group Wesley Hall, said he spoke to Neville on the phone - and that the group would be allowed to stay for a ‘few months.'
