Search for York teenager extended to Manchester

North Yorkshire Police have extended the search for missing York teenager Darren Patrick Boyd to the Manchester area.

The 15-year-old was last seen at his home in the Boroughbridge Road area of York at 8pm on Wednesday, 28 January.

Although it is believed Darren has not come to harm and left home by his own choice, his family and police remain concerned for his wellbeing.

Extensive police enquires are ongoing in both North Yorkshire and with assistance from Greater Manchester Police to confirm he is safe and well.

Police investigating Roy Keane 'road rage' incident

Police are investigating an alleged road rage incident involving former Manchester United captain Roy Keane.

Keane, 43, is believed to have got into an altercation with a taxi driver in Altrincham town centre.

At 11.30am, police were called to Ashley Road, Altrincham, to a report that a man had behaved aggressively towards another man. An investigation is under way to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Manchester Airport warns passengers to check flights

Manchester Airport has warned passengers to check with airlines for delays before travelling. Yesterday the airport was forced to temporarily suspend flights by the weather. Up to 40 flights have been cancelled today, with the majority on domestic routes such as London Heathrow and Aberdeen. The cold snap is also continuing to affect schools in the region with a number remaining closed today. Around 50 schools are closed in Oldham and Tameside, while more than 20 schools were also closed in East Lancashire, with several citing weather-affected access roads as the reason.

Poor conditions lead to numerous accidents in the region

Poor conditions has led to a number of accidents on the regions roads this morning.

On the M62 eastbound in Merseyside two lanes are closed and theres queueing traffic due to accident on M62 Eastbound at J5 A5080 (Huyton), congestion to J4 A5080 Bowring Park Road / Orchard (Rocket). Mark Warren tweeted us a picture.
