Bus ripped open in crash

Six people have been taken to hospital, after a bus hit a railway bridge - ripping off its roof. Emergency crews were called to the crash in Stockport at 1.39pm this afternoon.

Bus crash: 'sheer luck' no-one seriously hurt

Police say ten passengers were on the TransPeak bus at the time of the collision in George's Road.

One man was briefly trapped on the top deck before he was rescued by firefighters.

Three women and three men were taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and bruises.

The bus driver was not injured.

"It is only by sheer luck that no-one was seriously injured.

"If you were in the area at the time of the crash and witnessed the incident I would urge you to contact the police with any information."

Six people have been taken to hospital, after a double decker bus hit a railway bridge - ripping off its roof.

Emergency crews were called to the crash on George's Rd, Stockport at 1.39pm.

Firefighters rescued three women and three men from the wreckage.

One witness told Granada Reports that he saw a girl being treated within what remained of the top deck of the bus.
