A man has been arrested in connection with an explosion at a house in Bolton.
Shortly after 1.20pm on Sunday, police were called by the North West Ambulance Service, who had received reports a man had suffered serious injury to his hand.
Officers attended and discovered a 26-year-old man had suffered a serious hand injury during an explosion at a house on Lea Gate.
A number of neighbouring houses were evacuated as a precaution while a search was carried out by bomb disposal experts.
Police also searched two properties in Tonge Moor.
No explosive items were found at any of the addresses.
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not life threatening.
He has been arrested on suspicion of causing an explosion likely to endanger life or property and remains in a stable condition in hospital.
