Six members of staff from a Lancashire care home have been arrested by police investigating allegations ranging from neglect to physical abuse.

The six care home staff arrested as part of an investigation into neglect and abuse at the Hillcroft nursing home in Slyne-with-Hest, near Lancaster, have been released on bail.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "Six people arrested under the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts have been released on police bail until November 14."

Care home staff in Lancashire investigated

Six members of staff from a Lancashire care home have been arrested by police investigating allegations ranging from neglect to physical abuse.

The inquiry at the Hillcroft Nursing Home on Throstle Grove in Slyne-with-Hest near Lancaster began in May.

Police say they have been investigating complaints involving the care of patients with Alzheimer's disease.

The six people arrested include a matron - none are currently working at the home.

All were suspended before the police investigation began.
