Woman, 47, found dead in Blackpool restaurant toilet after laying in cubicle for two days
A woman who died in a restaurant toilet lay undiscovered for two days, her family has claimed.
Sabrina Lyttle, 47, was found in a cubicle after police were called to the Pan-Asian Restaurant, The Gurkha, on Waterloo Road in Blackpool at 1pm on Saturday, 30 November.
Her mum Catherine has since claimed her daughter had gone into the restaurant to use the loos two days earlier.
She said customers had reported not being able to access one of the cubicles - but Sabrina was not found until 30 November.
In a message posted on Facebook, Catherine said: "My daughter entered the property on Thursday 28 November to use the toilet.
"Post mortem is still waiting to find the cause of death but her body was not discovered until Saturday afternoon."
A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: "We were called at shortly after 1pm on Saturday, November 30 to a report of a sudden death at an address on Waterloo Road in Blackpool.
"Officers attended and sadly the body of a woman in her 40s was found dead inside the address. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this time."
Police have said that Sabrina's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
An inquest into her death is due to be held at Blackpool Town Hall on Thursday 3 April.
Licensing authority Blackpool Council has confirmed that officers from its public protection team have been made aware of Sabrina's death and plan to speak to bosses at Gurkha following the restaurant's Christmas closure.A Blackpool Council spokesperson, said: “Our public protection team has recently been made aware of this tragic death. Once the property has reopened after its Christmas closure they will be speaking to the operator.”
