'It had to be Burnley': Stars of Netflix's Bank of Dave 2 brave snow for film's world premiere
ITV Granada Reports Entertainment Correspondent Caroline Whitmore reports from the red carpet in Burnley
Burnley has taken centre stage for the world premiere of a new Netflix film.
Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger sees local businessman Dave Fishwick take on payday lenders who are preying on vulnerable people in his community.
The new movie is the sequel to Bank of Dave, which is the - almost - true story of how Dave took on the big banks and won, opening his own community-based lender.
The film's cast, crew, and guests braved the snow on Sunday 5 January for the film's world premiere at Reel Cinema in Burnley town centre.
Dave arrived at the red carpet in his own minibus with his wife Nicki, and helped shovel snow from the cinema's entrance.
Speaking on the red carpet at the event, Dave said: "Burnley is the centre of the universe - it had to be here!"
The Loan Ranger is centred on the story of Dave taking on the payday loan industry, which ended in Wonga being shut down.
Dave said: "People who borrowed £200 from payday lenders were being forced to pay back thousands of pounds.
"Netflix have allowed us to shine a light on this powerful subject, and also shine a light on this wonderful part of the world - Lancashire."
Rory Kinnear, who plays Dave in the film said it great to reprise the role for the second time and joked that he was second choice to Tom Cruise.
Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger premieres on Netflix on 10 January.
