Teenager dies and three others seriously injured following crash in West Lancashire

A teenager has died and three others have been seriously injured after a car crashed into a farm building.

Emergency services were called to Fir Tree Lane in Aughton, Lancashire just after 9pm on Wednesday, 11 December after a Vauxhall Corsa left the road and collided into a building.

A 17-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the car, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Det Sgt Joseph Ghigi, of Lancashire Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) said: “This collision has very sadly resulted in the death of one young man and left three others with serious injuries and my thoughts are with all of their loved ones at this time.“I would appeal to anyone who may have either seen the collision or the car in the moments before the collision, or anyone who has any dashcam or mobile phone footage or CCTV to get in touch.”Anyone with information is urged to call 101 quoting log 1316 of December 11th or email the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on SCIU@lancashire.police.uk.
