Body found after search for diver from Cheshire off the North Wales coast
A body has been found in the search for missing Cheshire diver Imrich Magyar.
A major search operation was launched in North Wales after reports the 53-year-old was potentially in difficulty while diving off Porth Ysgaden on the Llyn Peninsula last month. North Wales Police have now confirmed that a body of a man was discovered in the Llangwndal area of Pwllheli on Saturday, December 7.
The body has since been formally identified as Mr Magyar, of Warrington. Police say there are 'thought to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death'.In a tribute issued through police, a family member said: "Thank you to the police, coastguard and RNLI and all others who were helping to find Imrich. The family are very grateful for all the efforts made and for people who came out in their own time to help.
"Thank you to the police and coroner's office for their continued support and consideration to the family. Thank you all."
Det Chief Insp Andrew Gibson added: "Our deepest condolences remain with Imrich family and friends, who have requested their privacy to be respected at this difficult time. I would like to thank the community for their support during the searches."
