Kerry Katona dealt with by Manchester courts following driving offence conviction
Popstar and TV personality Kerry Katona has been called before Magistrates for driving offences after being handed penalty points.
The former Atomic Kitten member was previously convicted of failing to identify a suspected driving offender to Derbyshire police in August 2018 and was ordered to pay more than £800 in March 2019.
On Tuesday 25 April, Katona was expected to attend Manchester Magistrates’ Courts to make an application for a statutory declaration.
However, she didn’t attend and the application was dismissed.
It was previously reported that Katona failed to give information in August 2018 relating to the identification of the driver of a Nissan X-Trail who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence in Ripley.
Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court heard how on March 18 , Katona was fined £660.
It was also reported that she was ordered to pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs, and her driving record was endorsed with six points.
At the hearing on April 25, Katona was due to attend Manchester Magistrates’ Court for an appearance to make a statutory declaration.
But she failed to attend and failed to provide an explanation for her non-attendance.
Manchester JPs dismissed her application. It was not made clear what the application was regarding.
Katona was a member of the girl band Atomic Kitten from 1998 but left in 2001. She re-joined the group in 2012, until she left again in 2017.
She is also famous for being the winner of the third series of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Katona has also appeared in other TV shows including Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing on Ice.
