Every day in December we're opening a door of our Granada Reports Advent Calendar of local heroes.

Each day, we'll be meeting someone who has gone above and beyond in what has been a very difficult year.

Today is the turn of Braidy Maloney, one half of Catherine Braidy - a cake parlour in Liverpool.

They're opening on Christmas Day and offering teas, coffees and pastries to people who may be lonely.

Catherine said, "We see lots of customers who came in, especially through covid who came in just to have a chat."

"It's really important to us to be family to people."
