Cinder’aliyah: The Great Muslim Panto comes to Manchester and Blackburn this Christmas
'Cinder’aliyah – The Great Muslim Panto' will be heading to the North West this Christmas.
Yes, you read that right, a Muslim Cinderella story.
The World's only Muslim Pantomime will be coming to Greater Manchester and Blackburn in the run up to Christmas.
Tickets for the UK wide event sold out in 48 hours with organisers having to put on extra shows to accommodate all the people who want to go see it.
The Pantomime is run by the charity Penny Appeal who have already sold almost 10,000 tickets.
Cinder’aliyah tells the story of a young Pakistani girl trapped by her wicked stepmother and jealous stepsisters Bushra and Shagufta.
Meanwhile, the frivolous King and handsome Prince search the land for a mysterious woman who left her shoe behind at the Ball.
The show is written, directed, and starring comedian and actor Abdullah Afzal from Citizen Khan and is packed with humour from start to finish.
The charity said: "In many cases, this will be the first panto show for many Muslim families, they will experience."
The money made from the panto will go towards Penny Appeal’s Emergency Winter Appeal, providing those most in need with lifesaving winter aid including hot food, clothing and blankets.
