Malak Adabzadeh: Liverpool mother's death 'may have been due to cultural reasons'
Detectives are investigating whether the death of a 'loving mother' at a house in Liverpool may have been due to "cultural reasons".
The body of Malak Adabzadeh, 47, also known as Katy, was found at a property in Stoneycroft on Thursday 25 November, according to Merseyside Police.
Police said she had been living in the area but was originally from Iran.
In a statement, her family said: "Katy was a loving mother, lovely sister, wife and daughter. She was generous, kind and would always help anyone. Katy will be missed terribly.
"As a family we ask for the community's support at this time to find out what has happened to our beloved Katy."
Three men - two aged 21 and 57 from Stoneycroft and a 46-year-old from Norris Green - were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Superintendent Cheryl Rhodes said: "At this early stage, we are keeping an open mind as to the motive, but one of those lines of inquiry is that it may have been for domestic or other cultural reasons.
"I'd appeal to anyone with information, whether from the Iranian community within Liverpool, or anyone who knew Malak, to come forward as a matter of urgency.
"Likewise, if you live locally and saw, heard or captured anything, let us know.
"If necessary, we have an interpreter and language line solutions to getting information to us, and work closely with partners including Liverpool Domestic
"Abuse Service on 0151 494 2222, Merseyside IDVA services, and Savera UK who can be contacted via 0800 107 0726.
"I'd also ask that anyone with information only provides it in the following ways, and doesn't comment on social media platforms as this can jeopardise our vital enquiries."
Anyone with information should contact 101.
