North West pauses to applaud the NHS on 72nd birthday

People across the North West have paused to applaud the NHS' on its 72nd birthday.

Broadcasters also paused programmes at 5pm to encourage more people to go out into the streets to show their appreciation for health workers.

Staff at Whiston Hospital on Merseyside assembled outside to play their part. Chief Executive Ann Marr told ITV News she was proud to stand with her staff to mark the special moment.
