Girl, 15, raped in Oldham park after man asked to use her phone
A 15-year-old girl was raped in a park after a man approached her and pretended he to needed to use her phone, police said.
The attack happened at around 9pm on Sunday (June 21), in Chadderton Hall Park, Oldham.
Police said the girl was approached near to the bowling green when the man asked to use her phone.
She followed the man as he walked with her phone along a gravel path towards the river, where he then raped her.
Detective Sergeant Alex Wilkinson of GMP’s Oldham District, said:
The attacker is described as in his 30s, with a dark or olive complexion, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall.
He is clean-shaven, with hazel eyes and short dark hair. The man is believed to have been wearing a dark-coloured top with white writing across the chest.
