Corrie star encourages nation to 'bake boobs' for breast cancer awareness
Coronation Street star Victoria Ekanoye has opened up about her family's history with breast cancer.
The actress and singer, who plays Angie Appleton on the cobbles has told of her mother and sister who were both diagnosed with breast cancer.
To encourage younger women to check themselves regularly for any lumps or any other unusual symptoms in their breasts, Victoria has teamed up with the charity Prevent Breast Cancer.
With much of the nation taking to baking during lockdown, the new campaign by Prevent Breast Cancer is asking the nation to enter its 'bake a boob' competition to get people thinking about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
As breast cancer is the biggest cause of death in women aged 35-49, the new campaign hopes to raise more awareness on symptoms for both women and men.
Entrants are encouraged to have fun and get creative in the kitchen with all funds raised going to the charity itself.
More information on the competition can be found here.
