Summer Solstice this weekend

This weekend marks what many people consider the start of our UK Summer - the Longest Day of the Year and the Summer Solstice.

The summer solstice marks the point when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. This year this will be at 10.23pm BST on 20th June 2020.

After this, the days gradually begin to get shorter until the Winter Solstice (shortest day) - which occurs this year on 21st December.

June has been disappointingly wet so far, warm but showery, making up for the very dry Spring.

So can we expect any summery weather any time soon?
