Man shot whilst queuing at McDonald's drive-thru in Wirral
Merseyside police are investigating after a man was shot in front customers at a McDonald’s drive thru.
Emergency services were called to the fast food restaurant on theCroft Retail Park, in Bromborough, at around 5.30pm last night to reports ofmultiple shots being fired through the window of a car parked at thelast window.
A 21-year-old man, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the darkcoloured car, was shot in the leg before the shooter ran from thescene in the direction of ASDA. It is then believed that the car sped from the drive thru towards nearby Heather Dene before the victim was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Armed police surrounded the restaurant a short time later before Heather Dene was also cordoned off.
Forensic officers were seen taking pictures inside both areas beforepolice issued an appeal for the shooter alongside a description.A spokesperson for the force said: “The offender is described as anAsian male, around 5ft 8in tall, of medium build with a beard and ablack hooded jacket.
“It is believed he made off on foot in the direction of Asda.”Witnesses were left shaken and terrified by the daylight shooting,including staff who were inside the restaurant at the time.
