Footballer gets Prime Minister to do U-turn on free school dinner vouchers

A Manchester United footballer has got the Prime Minister to change his mind and fund free school meals for the poorest children over the summer break.

Marcus Rashford pleaded for the Government to extend its voucher scheme, which was introduced during the lockdown, to cover the summer months when so many parents struggle to feed their children.

And today - the Government did a U-turn and agreed.
