Pedestrian dies following motorway crash in Cheshire
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a tanker on a motorway in Cheshire, police have said.
Officers were called to the M56 between junctions 12 and 14 at about 5.30am on Monday, a force spokesman said.
The M56 eastbound was closed following the crash for investigation work but later reopened.
Police advised motorists to avoid the area due to ongoing delays.
