81-year-old beats coronavirus to look after his terminally-ill wife
An 81-year-old man with coronavirus was told by doctors that 'he wouldnot make it through the night' - but he was determined to fight thevirus to make it back home for his wife, suffering terminal cancer.
Doctors believed that the great-granddad to 21 youngsters, WilliamKaye, would not survive when he was admitted to the Royal BoltonHospital in the early hours of April 3.
His family even began making funeral arrangements as they waited fordoctors to call them with the news that he had died.
But, to the amazement of both his family and hospital staff, theRadcliffe pensioner fought his way back from the brink, making a'miraculous recovery'.
The family was devastated and had to break the initial news to Mr Kaye'sterminally ill wife of more than 60 years through a window.
But he's now recovering at home alongside his wife.
They say William has got a long way to go and is absolutely shattered.
But he is alive!
