100-year-old Isle of Man D-Day veteran Hector Duff OBE sends message of support to Captain Tom Moore
A 100-year-old D-Day veteran from the Isle of Man has sent a message to Captain Tom Moore ahead of his 100th birthday.
In the video message, Hector Duff OBE says he is looking forward to the next few days to see Captain Tom walking doing laps of his garden for the NHS.
Hector served with the Royal Tank Regiment, part of the 50th British Division, which landed on Gold beach in Normandy.
99-year-old veteran Captain Tom Moore has already raised more than £25 million for NHS Charities together, having initially targeted just £1,000 by walking 100 laps of his garden.
Not only that, but now he's also scored a number one single with a cover of You’ll Never Walk Alone with Michael Ball on the Official Big Top 40 chart.
