Oldham man jailed after drugs and revolver found in his car
An Oldham man has been jailed for almost 14 years after police found a revolver and drugs in his car following a crash.
Benjamin Harrison, 35, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Cocaine, Heroin and Ketamine, as well as possessing a prohibited firearm.
He has been sentenced to 13 years and 8 months in prison.
Harrison's car was involved in a collision at the junction of Chapel Road in Oldham on January 21 this year.
After the illegal items were found in his car officers also searched a house in Radcliffe, where they found more ammunition and items "which could be used in the production of drugs".
Police believe that the value of drugs seized was in the region of £400,000.
Detective Inspector Claire McGuire, Greater Manchester Police, said: "This was a significant seizure which has taken an illegal firearm off the streets, as well as a large quantity of drugs.
"This weapon was used to further Harrison’s criminality and its seizure makes our communities safer."
She added: "Today’s result sends a strong message that illegal drug use and those carrying illegal firearms will not be tolerated in Greater Manchester.
"Harrison now has a long time in prison to contemplate his foolish choices."
