Opening of new RHS garden for Salford is postponed until next year because of Covid-19
The opening of one of the biggest gardening schemes ever seen in the North West has been put back to May of next year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The grounds of Worsley New Hall in Salford are being transformed into the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Bridgewater..
The site used to be home to gardens, ponds and pathways created in the Victorian era, but it fell into disrepair.
The new garden was due to open this Summer, but the RHS says that has been postponed to Tuesday 11 May 2021.
It says to ensure the health and safety of its staff and contractors and following Government advice on social distancing, the RHS has been operating at limited capacity at the site
