Isle of Man Government in talks to replace former Flybe routes

Flybe routes from the Isle of Man could be restored by as soon as next week.

That is according to the Chief Minister, Howard Quayle, who says talks are currently being held with airlines to restore the vital Manx connections to the UK.

He also confirmed it would include the Isle of Man's NHS patient transfer service.

Flybe travelled to around 170 destinations and flew the most UK domestic routes outside of London.

In the North West, one of the main destinations was the Isle of Man.

Just under half of all flights arriving and departing from Ronaldsway Airport were operated by the airline.

The Isle of Man Government also held a contract with Flybe to transfer all NHS patients from the Island to medical facilities in Liverpool.

This service is something that is being negotiated as part of the discussions and is expected to be included in whichever airline takes on the routes.
