A powerful account of being gay in the Asian community
A support group in Rochdale says there's still a stigma around homosexuality in some Asian communities. Its just one of a handful supporting Asian LGBT people providing a safe space for people to share experiences and build new lives.Lucky Roy Singh is a Sikh Indian living in Manchester. He's written a book about his struggle to be accepted as a gay man. He was even told to dress as a woman when he and his partner married in a civil ceremony. He talked to Granada Reports about the difficulties of being Asian and being forced to hide his true identity.
