Man charged with murder following stabbing in Oldham
A man has been charged with murder following the death of a teenager in Oldham.
Ahsan Khan, 19, died following a 'fight involving a small group of men' on Cheviot Avenue in the early hours of Sunday.
Mr Khan was taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' where he later died.
Raheel Khan, 20, of Cheviot Avenue, Oldham, has been charged with murder.
He will appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court today (February 20).
Police said Mr Khan is not related to Ahsan.
Three men arrested in connection with the incident – two 21-year-old men and a 19-year-old man – have been released on bail.
Another man, 20, who 'self-presented' at a police station has been arrested on suspicion of murder, police have said that he remains in custody.
The full statement from the force reads: "Police have charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Ahsad Khan.
"Raheel Khan (24/11/1999) of Cheviot Avenue, Oldham, has been charged with one count of murder and will appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 20 February 2020).
"Officers were called shortly before 4.30am on Sunday 16 February 2020 to reports of a stabbing on Cheviot Avenue after a fight involving a small group of men.
"Emergency services attended the scene and the 19-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later."
