Back to the Future musical to open in Manchester
The musical version of the hit film 'Back to the Future' will open for its world premiere in Manchester this evening.
The 1985 science-fiction film is one of the best-known movies in history and will now transition to the stage at the Manchester Opera House.
The show features the work of the original creators, with Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis writing the book and Alan Silvestri composing the music.
Bob Gale said: "This will retell our story in a brand new way."
The film's original songs such as "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time" will be joined by a brand new score.
It is not the first time new musicals have premiered in Manchester, with both 'Ghost' and '&Juliet' choosing The Opera House as their first venues.
The show will be in Manchester until May 17.
