Northwich hosts music festival to raise money for those affected by market fire
A music festival in Northwich has been called "the biggest event Northwich will ever see."
The Northwich Market fundraiser has been set up to raise money for small business owners who were affected by a fire at the town's market hall earlier this year.
The festival has over 100 acts playing across a range of bars and cafe's across the Cheshire town.
The event's organiser, Iain Stead, said that he decided to put on the festival as he was a trader previously and he knew how hard it was to make a living doing it.
Many of the traders in the market lost all their stock as well as their place of business.
The town's mayor, Kevin Rimmer, praised the town's community spirit: "I'm really impressed with how the community has pulled together for this, to organise it alone must have been a nightmare.
"It just goes to show that in adverse circumstances, if you have got a committed community, they'll come out in force and help and support people."
The music events are free to access, with the organisers just asking for donations.
There will be events on until late this evening.
