Speedo Mick is back on the road after recovering from calf injury

Speedo Mick is back on the road after being hit by injury attempting to raise £100,000 by walking 1,000 miles in his swimming trunks.

The Everton fan, famous for attending Premier League matches in his blue Everton swimwear and scarf, is in the middle of walking from John O' Groats to Land's End to raise money for community projects for disadvantaged young people.

The 55-year-old, who's real name is Mick Cullen has been having daily physio and cryotherapy sessions on his leg after a muscle tear.

Now he says he’s ready to set off again for the second half of his trek with 500 miles to go. He's raising money for his own charity, Leave The Light On to support community projects.

He reached Ormskirk about about halfway through the walk, which began on December 11 in freezing conditions and has so far raised more than £94,000 via his Gofundme page.

He initially hoped to raise £50,000 but doubled that target after surpassing it within a few weeks.

He attended last weekend's Merseyside derby in the FA Cup at Anfield as a guest of Liverpool.
