Bosley Mill explosion: Company director in court over four deaths

A company director is due before Chester Crown Court after 4 people died in a blast at a wood flour mill near Macclesfield in 2015.

George Bowden is accused of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Dorothy Bailey, Will Barks, Jason Shingler and Derek Moore at site in Bosley.

The blast happened on 17 July 2015 at Wood Flour Mills. Firefighters did not leave the site of the explosion for more than a month.

Mr Bowden is also charged with a health and safety breach along two of the factory's managers.

Peter Shingler, 56, and Phil Smith, 58, denied breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974.
