Man arrested over fatal car crash in Burscough

A man has been arrested after the deaths of two young men in a crash in West Lancashire.

24 year old Conner Stevens and 18 year old Luke Peaurt-Moran were in a white Audi S1 which hit a wall and telegraph poll in Burscough on Wednesday 20 November.

Conner, who was driving, died at the scene. Luke, who was the front seat passenger, died at Aintree Hospital.

Police say that the Audi, along with a red Fiat 500 Abarth, had been stolen during a burglary prior to the crash.

The Fiat Abarth was later recovered on Valley Close in Crosby, Merseyside.

A 26-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and burglary.

He remains in police custody.

Luke and Conner's families have been informed and continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
