Man jailed for 'repeatedly' biting young baby while high on cocaine

A man has been jailed for "repeatedly" biting a young baby, while under the influence of drugs.

Police say they were called in April after bite marks were found on a 14 week old, which medical enquiries established were human.

29-year-old Michael Dabbs, who is from Bromborough on Merseyside, admitted assaulting the child.

Dabbs, who was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the assault, was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment.

Merseyside Police have welcomed the ruling, after what they called an "appalling" incident.
