Blackpool Tower turns purple as part of disability campaign
Landmarks across the North West have been lit purple today as part of a campaign to improve disability access to shops.
Purple Tuesday is campaigning to improve disabled people's experiences in shops and businesses after research showed that poor customer service prevented disabled customers from purchasing goods and services.
It says that 75% of disabled people have had to leave a store or website, unable to go through with their purchase because of their disability.
The research has led Purple Tuesday to call on organisations to focus on straightforward, low-cost solutions to improve the customer experience for disabled people.
