Blackpool Zoo residents enjoy seized cannabis farm equipment

Some of the animals at Blackpool Zoo will feel a little cosier thanks to equipment seized by police at one of Lancashire's biggest ever cannabis farms.

Police say the farm in the Lower Eccleshill area of Darwen had between 8,000 and 10,00 cannabis plants.

Officers seized lamps, reflectors, bulbs, transformers and temperature gauges worth around £5, 000 which has been given to the zoo to help in the care of reptiles.

Detectives say the drugs found at the address have since been destroyed.
