The former Thomas Cook worker determined to help colleagues find new jobs
A former Thomas Cook employee is going above and beyond to help the thousands of people who lost their jobs after the travel firm collapsed.
Gareth Simpson worked as a travel rep in the early 2000s before leaving for a career in recruitment and web design.
But he kept in touch with his former colleagues, saying they were "one big family" - and was horrified to think of so many losing their jobs.
After news of the collapse broke, Mr Simpson bought the domain name jobs4thomascook.com in a bid to help his old workmates find out about new job opportunities.
Now, more than 200 employers have posted links on the site to more than 650 available jobs.
Mr Simpson is now also arranging a jobs fair in Salford, which will attended by more than 25 firms.
