Six-foot python abandoned in supermarket car park
A six-foot Burmese python has been found abandoned in a plastic box in a Tesco car park in Lancashire.
A member of the public called the police after spotting the snake in Burnley. It was in a tub labelled "Brazilian Rainbow Boa £170".
The snake is now in the hands of the RSPCA, who believe it to be an abandoned pet.
Staff say that although this snake appears healthy, the cold temperatures it was left in could have caused it serious harm.
The charity is urging people to do their research before committing to an exotic pet.
