Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found dead in Prenton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman in Wirral.

The 63 year old was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to a home in West Park Gardens, Prenton, just after 11am on 25 September.

Police are questioning a 50 year old man.

Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Wilson said: "An investigation has been launched however we are in the very early stages and the death is currently being treated as unexplained."

“Officers remain in the area and will be carrying out forensic and house-to-house enquiries. A cordon is currently in place at the scene.

A port mortem examination will be carried out.
