Fundraiser starts for 'Fifth Beatle' statue in Liverpool
Music historians are asking for donations to fund a statue honouring Beatles manager Brian Epstein.
Known as the 'Fifth Beatle,' Epstein discovered the band in Liverpool's Cavern Club in 1961. He is also created with developing the 'Merseybeat' sound with numerous groups and singers.
Campaigners say they need to raise a minimum of £60,000 to build the memorial in the city. The project's sculptor, Andy Edwards, has already created a bronze of the band itself at Liverpool's Pier Head.
