Lionesses captain calls for an end to period poverty

Steph Houghton, captain for Man City women's team and England's Lionesses, is one of the nations leading athletes.

Having led England to the semi-finals of this year's FIFA Women's World Cup, Steph is championing an issue which prevents so many girls from taking part in national and international sport at all levels.

New research has revealed 31 per cent of girls have avoided after-school clubs because they have not been able to afford sanitary products.
