Whaley Bridge evacuation: 'We don't know when we can go back - it looks bad'
More than a thousand people living in the Derbyshire town of Whaley Bridge have spent the night in emergency accommodation - waiting to see if a damaged dam wall above the town will hold.
An RAF Chinook has been brought in to drop 400 tonnes of aggregate in an effort to stop more water coming into Toddbrook Reservoir - to ease pressure on the damaged wall and allow for repairs.
Residents had no choice but to leave their homes, after a "threat to life" flood warning was issued.
Many spent the night at a hotel in Buxton.

Police said they understand that being evacuated from your home is a very difficult decision "and it is certainly not one that we make lightly".
