Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Peter Brennan has resigned after he shared a racist video with other councillors.

Brennan, who took up the role in May, agreed to stand down after discussions with elected Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson.

It is though Cllr Brennan, who is a patron of the Anthony Walker Foundation - killed by Michael Barton on this exact day in 2005 - shared the video on Whatsapp, which prompted a complaint.
