Police find stash of guns hidden in Salford's oldest cemetery
Police have found a stash of guns hidden in a cemetery in Salford.
Officers surrounded a disused chapel at the entrance of Weaste Cemetery and were spotted lifting items from the back and putting them in boxes.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police later confirmed they recovered "a number of firearms" during the operation.
GMP said the operation is part of an investigation into the supply of guns in Salford, and not any other specific inquiry.
They said the weapons will need to be tested first to see if they are 'viable firearms' or not.
