A cancer surgeon and charity fundraiser are safely back home in Manchester after a lightning strike forced them to quit the world's toughest cycle race.

James Harvey and Tom Allen planned to ride 3000 miles across America in just eight days. It was all to raise money for breast cancer screening research. But massive thunderstorms stopped them two thirds of the way into the journey.

They joined us in the studio earlier and told us about the moment the lightning struck in Illinois.
