Cyclist injured after alleyway shooting in Liverpool

A cyclist was shot in the knee after being ambushed by two men as herode through a Liverpool alleyway last night.

Police were called after the victim, a man in his 20s, later went to Aintree hospital.

A police cordon remains in place and several police officers remain atthe crime scene today.

Detectives are now trying to see if CCTV footage captured the shootingand urged witnesses to come forward.
