Winter Hill moorlands recovering a year on from wildfires

It's hard to believe that a year ago we were sweltering in the middle of a heatwave across the region.

And that was bad news for vast areas of moorland at Saddleworth and Winter Hill in particular.

The devastating wildfires during the summer drought damaged a third of the Smithills Estate, managed by the Woodland Trust.

But as Paul Crone now reports, the recent rain has brought some good news.
