How infected blood caused 30 years of agony
A woman from Cheshire who contracted Hepatitis C after a blood tranfusion has spoken about her 30 year ordeal battling the disease and the impact its had on her life.
Lesley McEvoy from Lymm has given evidence to the public inquiry into Infected Blood. .She'd initially refused to have the transfusion after complications following the birth of her son but was assured it was safe.
It took 20 years for Lesley to get diagnosed and then had years of treatment for the damage it caused to to her liver. She's one of thousands affected by the scandal.
She spoke to Granada Reports about the problems of getting a correct diagnosis.
