Murder investigation launched after body of woman in her 20s is found

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Salford.

The alarm was raised in the early hours of Wednesday morning when police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman at a property on Manchester Road in Walkden.

Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a woman who's believed to be in her 20s.

A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A forensics scene is currently in place at the house and detectives will remain in the area for some time.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.

Formal identification and a Home Office Post Mortem examination are yet to take place, police said.
