ITV cancels The Jeremy Kyle Show following death of guest
ITV has permanently cancelled The Jeremy Kyle show after the death of a guest who appeared on the programme.
Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, announced on Wednesday: "Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
"The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.
The talk show was suspended indefinitely by the broadcaster following the death of a participant, 63-year-old Steve Dymond, a week after the programme was filmed.
The 63-year-old told friends about going on the show and how he hoped it would heal his relationship with his fiancé Jane.
A previously announced review of the episode of the show is underway and will continue.
